Ten Days in Paris: A Digital Diary of Our Adventure, Deuxième Jour: Parisian Delirium
Our flight finally landed Friday morning & despite our jet lagged driven delirium we promptly delivered our luggage to the apartment and went out for a café. While there with Erin, Pierre-Yves (Erin's beau) & my sister Maggie we began our french lesson for the day, one quite important phrase: petit noir, meaning a shot of espresso, this I'm told, is only used by Parisians. While we sipped our coffee of choice out of dainty pastel cups, we leisurely talked, people watched, and in that moment I realized I had no where to be, I was in no rush, and we were purely enjoying each other's company. After our caffeine rush we took the day to explore the city, we walked through Jardin du Luxembourg, saw the senat français, drooled over patisseries, and biked back to apartment. For dinner we returned to Jardin du Luxembourg for more people watching. With us; a baguette & fromage, a bottle of pays d'oc vin blanc, and the most adorable & delightful cake of mousse au chocolat I've ever seen. Here are some pics from our exploration...
Here is a beautifully bold painted door, in teal this time.
Here is a shot of a ceiling outside the Louvre. I love the intricacy of its Renaissance-style architecture & the color of the stone.
