Ten Days in Paris: A Digital Diary of Our Adventure, Septième Jour: An Aixois Way of Life
I began the morning quietly at a café, sipping & writing, admiringthe Aixois way of life. The sunlit square oozes luxury. The shops are filled with pristine bright colored clothes that reek of exclusivity and locals flutter in and out of them.
After I finished writing, Maggie and I met at the open market and strolled through booths selling lavender infused honey, fig & orange flavored calissons, and every type of olive or tapanade one could imagine. For lunch, Erin met us in a square near the Hotel de Ville and we sat and enjoyed a breeze in the shade. After, we parted ways, and I took a walk to Atelier Cézanne (Paul Cézanne's studio in Aix). While standing in the lovely space, I observed the skulls & glass bottles Cézanne so famously rendered, and momentarily I was transported. If only moments like these could last forever. C'est la vie.
