With the hustle of Paris left behind, we arrived in Aix en Provence on a bright Tuesday afternoon. Upon arrival Aix looked as if it was glowing from within. The yellow ochre hue I only knew from tubes of paint suddenly came alive through the walls of every building in this city. Vines take over whole structures & tall white bark trees shade cafés filled with locals sipping beers in the afternoon. Parks are filled with sun bathing beauties, the shop windows sparkle with enticement, and the town is majestic. Countless balconies overlook the streets and the busy sounds of Paris are replaced by the buzz of chatting natives & accordion melodies. Aix en Provence embodies what I had idealized Paris to be.
